First things first the benefits of the ingredients: Raw Honey, Lemon and Coconut oil
Honey has super powerful antiviral and antimicrobial properties. These properties help you fight the virus and bacteria to treat the cold. Honey soothes a sore throat making it an effective suppressant for coughs. The sweet taste of honey adds a nice flavor to the syrup making it a smooth ride down your kiddos throat.
We all know lemons are high in Vitamin C, so why not use it in your syrup? Vitamin C is one of the main antioxidants in food. It travels through the body, neutralizing any free radicals. A little extra Vitamin C is very useful for the overall strong immune system.
There are books written on the magic of coconut oil, that is why it is in our syrup. Coconut oil gently soothes a sore throat and eases coughing. In addition to boosting immunity and fighting the virus, coconut oil has shown to shorten the length of a cold.
Lets begin mamas, lets make the syrup.
- 1/4 cup of raw honey
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 4 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Melt coconut oil and raw honey in a sauce pan over very low heat until coconut oil is melted, stir in lemon juice until combined
- Take couple tablespoons of the warm syrup or add to a cup of warm water.
- Store your syrup in the fridge for up to a month heating it up on the stove top over very low heat.
